About

Sally-Ann Rowland is an interdisciplinary artist whose conceptual practice explores emotion and psychological states. She produces work in a variety of media including drawing, sculpture, photography and textiles. Her representations of nature, altered domestic objects and the interpretation and exposure of her experiences give emotional life a form of material reality while attending to the metaphoric dimension of daily life and our integration with the natural world.
Sally-Ann studied art at the South Australian School of Art and was awarded an Anne & Gordon Samstag International Art Scholarship. She did a Masters in Fine Art at Columbia University, New York in 2002, followed by a year long residency from the Australia Council Studio at PS1 Contemporary Art Center, MoMA.
